West Ham United to contact agent for Matias Soule transfer within days
West Ham are expected to reach out to Matias Soule’s agent Martin Guastadisegno in their bid to sign the Juventus attacker, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Italian outlet reported in their print edition (13 June, page 17) that the Irons are competing with Bayer Leverkusen, Roma and Leicester to complete a transfer for the Argentine winger this summer.
Juventus have reportedly only received one offer so far for Soule, but that bid of just under £17million wasn’t enough for the Bianconeri to accept.
That rejection opens the door for Premier League sides like the Hammers to pounce, who could make contact with Guastadisegno in the next few days.
West Ham United ramping up transfer chase for wide players
The Hammers are taking a front-foot, aggressive approach to the summer transfer window, with new head coach Julen Lopetegui wasting no time in shaping his inaugural squad at the London Stadium.
Lopetegui identified six positions the Irons needed to strengthen before his appointment, and early transfer activity suggests that the wide areas have been specifically targeted by the Spaniard [The Sun].

18-year-old Palmeiras winger Luis Guilherme is on the brink of a move to East London, having travelled to the UK for a medical this week after agreeing terms in Brazil [Florian Plettenberg].
Portuguese star Jota Silva is another player who has been heavily chased by Lopetegui, and securing either his or Soule’s signature would certainly bolster the Irons’ forward stocks going into next season [O Jogo].
Giving this much attention to the wide positions could be a suggestion that West Ham are bracing for the departure of a player like Mohammed Kudus this summer, but if Lopetegui can retain their best talent, the Hammers could have an attacking arsenal most Premier League sides would envy [Gary Neville].
