West Ham United could land Belgium international for cut-price fee in summer transfer bargain
West Ham United could land Zeno Debast from Anderlecht for cheaper than anticipated in the summer transfer window, according to AreaNapoli.it.
The Hammers are showing interest in the Belgium international defender, although the Italian outlet reported [8 May] that there is also heavy Serie A interest from Juventus and Napoli.
At 20 years old and given his form, it has been suggested that he could cost around €20million (£17m) from Anderlecht.
However, with his current deal expiring in 2025, a smaller fee fee in the region of €16m (£13.8m) could force the Belgian side’s hand.
Should West Ham United sign Zeno Debast?
The Belgian is a versatile defensive option who is comfortable playing centrally or as a right-back if needed.
His ability on the ball could make him a useful option in the Premier League and he is only going to get better at 20.
He has made 1,944 passes across 34 appearances in the Belgian Pro League and he an 84.4-per-cent success rate [FotMob].
His aerial presence slightly lets down Debast despite standing at six foot two, which has seen him win just 53.6 per cent of duels this season.
Despite being a centre-back, he has created 22 chances for his teammates but is yet to gain an assist with 1.71 expected assists this campaign.
With Nayef Aguerd potentially departing the club over the summer amid Saudi Arabia interested, Debast could be a perfect replacement.

Given his age, the potential fee is quite low and could be a bargain if the Hammers can ward off elite European interest.
