West Ham United ‘in massive Kleindienst transfer boost’ amid new £29m update

West Ham United’s winless run in the Premier League extended to eight games after the Hammers drew 1-1 with London rivals Tottenham on Sunday.

Graham Potter is already under scrutiny at the London Stadium having steered the men in claret and blue to just three wins in 16 attempts.

With just three games remaining in the Premier League, West Ham look set to finish just 17th this term despite landing a top-half spot last season.

Meanwhile, Potter’s men have already set their sights on the summer transfer window and are keen on a move for Borussia Monchengladbach striker Tim Kleindienst.

Monchengladbach may have to sell Kleindienst amid West Ham interest

The London Stadium club are not alone in their interest in Kleindienst, who is also a transfer target for Premier League rivals Tottenham, Everton and Wolves, while Serie A duo AC Milan and Roma are also keen on the 29-year-old.

According to Caught Offside (5 May), Monchengladbach may have to sell the striker if they fail to finish in the European spots.

The report adds that interested parties are ready to pay £29million for the Germany international, who notched a goal and an assist in a 4-4 draw with Hoffenheim on Saturday.

Kleindienst could be a top acquisition for West Ham

West Ham have struggled in attack this season, scoring just 40 goals in 35 Premier League outings so far this term, while striker Michail Antonio is still recovering from a broken leg.

Amid his injury struggles, Niclas Fullkrug has not had the impact he would have liked since joining from Borussia Dortmund last summer, scoring just three goals in 15 top-flight appearances.

As Potter looks to strengthen his frontline this summer, West Ham have set their sights on Lille striker Jonathan David, who is out of contract with the French club at the end of the season.

But if the Hammers can sign Kleindienst, the 29-year-old could prove to be a top addition for the East London outfit, while he is enjoying a strong season in the Bundesliga.

He has scored 16 goals and created seven assists in 30 league Bundesliga appearances for Monchengladbach this term, and should be ready for the challenge of Premier League football.
