West Ham United target Scott McTominay could be available for transfer as Man United ace has ‘greater selling power’

West Ham target Scott McTominay could be available for a transfer this summer as he has “greater selling power” than some of his Manchester United teammates, according to the Metro.

The newspaper reported on 17 July that Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag could open to selling the Scotland international this summer if the “right offer comes along”.

It said the Dutchman saw greater value in keeping hold of the 26-year-old because he’s younger than fellow United midfielders Fred and Donny van de Beek, but that he believes the Scot would be easier to offload.

Ideal Rice replacement

It seems as though Ten Hag is a little reluctant to let McTominay leave after he featured 39 times for the Red Devils last season.

Since coming through the ranks at Old Trafford, having been at the club for 21 years, the midfielder has made more than 200 appearances in a red shirt.

He has been a popular figure amongst just about every Man United manager he has worked under, with previous boss Jose Mourinho making him “Manager’s Player of the Season” following the 2017/18 campaign [Independent].

It’s no surprise that David Moyes is reportedly a big fan of his fellow Scot after he has put in a number of excellent performances when coming up against his Hammers side.

McTominay would be a great replacement for Rice, given his experience at a top Premier League club, his presence in the middle of the park and his ability on the ball.

In other West Ham news, one Championship target could now be available on a cut-price deal.
