West Ham United target Jota Silva expects imminent exit from Vitoria de Guimaraes
West Ham United target Jota Silva is expecting an “imminent” departure from Vitoria de Guimaraes, according to A Bola.
The report on 9 June states that the Hammers are following the forward “very closely” but have not yet submitted an offer for his services.
Silva reportedly has a release clause in his contract worth around £17million, though West Ham are expected to make a bid of between £10m and £13m.
The report adds that Silva is considered Vitoria de Guimaraes’ “Most Valuable Player”, but the Portuguese side understand this could be their final chance to land a big sum for him.
Will West Ham United land Jota Silva this summer?
The Hammers’ prospects of sealing a deal for Silva look promising at this stage, given the state of play.
The 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of next season, meaning his club must cash in now or risk losing the player for free in a year’s time.
The forward enjoyed a superb 2023/24 campaign, scoring 15 goals and laying on seven assists in 42 appearances across all competitions – including 11 strikes and six assists in 33 league games.
Silva’s numbers are impressive across multiple areas, too.
His 95 shots and 36 shots on target, coupled with his 185 touches in the opposition box mark him out as a player capable of producing consistent goal threat, for example [FotMob].

However, he offers more than just conventional attacking output.
His 38 possessions won in the final third is an exceptional number, while he has also won a surprisingly high 57 aerial duels despite standing at just under 5ft 9in.
Silva could prove a steal at under £20m, if the Hammers can get a deal over the line.
