West Ham United talks scheduled to sign Carlos Soler, Hammers exits due – Fabrizio Romano
West Ham United are scheduled to hold talks with Carlos Soler’s representatives in the coming days, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing via his personal X account on Tuesday (20 August), Romano reported that the Hammers have made an initial approach to sign the 27-year-old central midfielder from Paris Saint-Germain.
It is understood that discussions will be held with Soler’s camp with the Irons also working on shipping out players from the London Stadium.
Who will West Ham United sell before summer transfer window closes?
It’s been a very busy summer transfer window for West Ham.
Julen Lopetegui has replaced David Moyes as the manager and the Spaniard – along with Tim Steidten – has made some seriously impressive signings.
Luis Guilherme, Crysencio Summerville, Max Kilman, Niclas Fullkrug, Jean-Clair Todibo and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all look like great buys on paper while free transfers have also been done for Wes Foderingham and Guido Rodriguez.
In terms of outgoings, Thilo Kehrer, Nathan Trott, Said Benrahma and Flynn Downes have been sold while Angelo Ogbonna, Ben Johnson and Divin Mubama have been released as the end of their contracts.
There’s definitely some fat that still needs to be trimmed off of Lopetegui’s squad with his first team selection of the Premier League season on Saturday providing some hints about who could be on the chopping block.
But it doesn’t seem as though there’s much that’s advanced right now and if Soler can only be signed if a space is made for him, it’s a deal that could take a week or so to complete.
In other West Ham United news, the Hammers have signed a player from Tottenham.
