West Ham United table £29m+ bid for Jean-Clair Todibo as Nice respond

West Ham United are trying to sign OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Sky Sports Germany reporter shared via X (2 July) that the 24-year-old, who was a top target for Manchester United, won’t come cheap.

West Ham have already seen an opening offer of £29.6million turned down.

However, the club could make another offer for the centre-back as they have not yet left the race for his signature.

Will West Ham United sign Jean-Clair Todibo from OGC Nice?

This would be an incredible signing for the Hammers.

Julen Lopetegui’s side are in desperate need of a new defender, something which was evident based on the club’s defensive displays last season.

Only the three sides relegated from the Premier League conceded more goals than the Hammers and one of Lopetegui’s first priorities will be to fix that leaky defence.

And signing Todibo would go a long way toward doing just that.

The France international is one of the most exciting defenders on the market and someone who United were desperate to sign.

Bringing in a player of this quality would be a huge statement of intent and an incredible way to usher in the Lopetegui era at the London Stadium.

This won’t be an easy deal to get across the line, but if there is any indication that it might be possible, then the club must make this an absolute priority.

The opportunity to sign a player like Todibo doesn’t come around often, and the Hammers must therefore look to take full advantage.
