West Ham United submit £15m bid to sign Reiss Nelson amid Leicester loan-to-buy twist
West Ham United have made a £15million bid for Arsenal ace Reiss Nelson, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The newspaper reported via their print edition on 28 July (page 68) and stated that despite the Hammers’ bid, Leicester are also in talks with the Gunners over a loan-to-buy deal.
The Foxes are confident that they will win the race for the winger this summer due to Steve Cooper’s strong relationship with him.
Fulham has also been linked with a move for the attacker this summer with the choice left in his hands.
West Ham United need to convince Reiss Nelson to join the club
It’s no secret that Julen Lopetegui has been in the market for attacking reinforcement this summer.
There have been a plethora of names linked with a move to the London Stadium this transfer window with strikers and wingers both topping the Hammers’ list of priorities.
Matias Soule was one of the most-linked players with a move to West Ham this term but the Argentine has seemingly chosen Roma instead [Gazzetta dello Sport, 24 July, page 16].
However, the addition of Nelson would certainly be a statement of intent from the club.

Links between the Hammers and Nelson have only recently resurfaced [GiveMeSport, 11 July] but it’s a move that has piqued a lot of fans’ interest.
Although the attacker didn’t have the strongest of seasons last term with sporadic appearances across the campaign, it’s evident that there was still plenty of talent within the Arsenal academy graduate.
His versatility would be of use to the Hammers as he could be deployed on either wing and offer some support for both Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have made a ‘convincing’ approach for Crysencio Summerville.
