West Ham United still ready to bid for Tomori, not put off by his valuation
West Ham United are still interested in making a bid for AC Milan ace Fikayo Tomori in the upcoming January transfer window, according to MilanLive.
The Italian outlet reported via their website (23 December) that, despite the Serie A outfit wanting £24.9million to sanction a move, the Hammers aren’t put off by the fee.
They have been interested in the former Chelsea man for some time now with a move having been mooted in the summer window [HITC, 22 July].
The report from MilanLive also adds that other Premier League sides such as Aston Villa and Newcastle are also vying for his services.
Fikayo Tomori would be perfect for West Ham United
At the moment, Julen Lopetegui only has three natural senior centre-backs within his squad.
Two of which were brought in during the summer transfer window and have formed a fairly formidable partnership despite Jean Clair-Todibo and Konstantinos Mavropanos often interchanging with one another.
Max Kilman was arguably the Hammers’ best addition of the summer as the centre-back has more than cemented his role in the first team.
While a fee of over £24m might seem like a fairly high amount, for a player of Tomori’s quality, it feels more than reasonable.

He may have lost his spot within the Milan squad in recent weeks but it’s likely that there’s still a more than solid defender within him.
Granted, he’d have to prove his worth to be put in for a starting XI role but with the defensive form West Ham have shown this season, it feels like the Englishman would be a valuable addition.
