West Ham United staff jet out on transfer mission over Giannis Konstantelias amid £10m update
West Ham United are tracking the progress of Giannis Kostantelias of PAOK with scouts sent to watch their game against Club Brugge in the week, according to the Daily Mirror .
Despite a wealth of attacking talents in the Hammers squad, there are now links to a fresh option to add to the mix.
In a report from Sunday People (14 April, page 53), they have suggested that scouts in Greece have highlighted Kostantelias.
They said: “West Ham are tracking PAOK’s 21-year-old attacking midfielder Giannis Konstantelias. Irons scouts have been making frequent checks on the playmaker, who can also play out wide, following another eye-catching campaign in the Greek Super League.
“West Ham had scouts present in Belgium on Thursday to watch Konstantelias in Paok’s 1-0 Europa Conference League quarter-final defeat by Club Brugge. The Hammers also cast an eye over Konstantelia – valued at just under £10 million – in Greece last weekend when PAOK drew 2-2 with AEK Athens.”
Should West Ham sign Giannis Kostantelias?
This may be in response to the potential departure of Lucas Paqueta who has been linked to Manchester City by Fabrizio Romano via X.
Should Paqueta depart the London Stadium in the summer, there is going to be a need for some midfield recruitment, no doubt.
The Brazilian has been of great importance this campaign as he has contributed with four goals and six assists across 25 Premier League starts [FotMob].
He ranks fourth for goal involvement in the Hammers squad but it is his impact on games that will certainly be missed.

Konstantelias has eight goals and five assists of his own across all competitions which extends to 38 goals in the league and the Conference League [Fbref].
The 21-year-old is able to play through the middle as a number 10 or out wide and could play in tandem with Mohamed Kudus, going inside and out.
His ability with his ball at his feet is clear for all to see and allows him to take on his man and create chances for his teammates.
The Greek youngster has a good turn of pace which combined with his technical qualities, makes him an attacking danger.
Given his age, this signing could be one for the present and future at West Ham, even if David Moyes departs…
