West Ham United sort final details on Fullkrug signing in Thursday update by Dharmesh Sheth
West Ham United are arranging the final details with Borussia Dortmund on a move for Niclas Fullkrug, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports transfer correspondent reported [31 July] that the Hammers are closing in on an agreement for the German international, with the structure of the deal now being thrashed out.
Personal terms are not yet entirely complete between the striker and his potential new employers, but optimism is “growing” that a transfer can be agreed.
West Ham go back in for Fullkrug
Although the demographic of West Ham’s transfer targets has often shifted from the era of David Moyes before Tim Steidten took the full reins on recruitment, Fullkrug was a target last season too according to Sheth.
The 31-year-old has spent a solitary campaign at Dortmund following a successful spell with Werder Bremen in which he averaged a goal every two Bundesliga games.
Fullkrug netted 12 goals in 29 league matches in the famous black and yellow, has hit 13 in 21 senior Germany caps and has shown the credentials as a “late bloomer” which could give the Irons some of the best years of the player’s career.

Steidten has to date not been entirely successful in the club’s pursuit of a striker to add to Michail Antonio and Danny Ings, with three bids turned down for Aston Villa youngster Jhon Duran [Sunday Mirror, 28 July] and a seemingly failed chase of Villarreal frontman Alexander Sorloth.
Fullkrug would provide an exciting and direct dynamic to Julen Lopetegui’s system, and there is a keen interest to see how he would operate in claret and blue.
In other West Ham news, the club have agreed personal terms with Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville.
