West Ham United set for ‘Busy January’ as priority transfer targets named
West Ham United are set for a “busy January” transfer window, with their two priority positions named according to a report by TEAMtalk.
Writing on their website (21 November), the news outlet report that sources believe the Hammers will try to sign a new striker and midfielder during the winter window to bolster their squad ahead of the second half of the season.
The club are set to advance to the knockout rounds of the Europa League and are pushing to qualify in the European spots in the Premier League too.

“West Ham will have a busy January with sources saying striking and midfield enforcements are being targeted as they battle in the Premier League and on the continental stage in the Europa League,” they wrote.
Needed
West Ham fans were delighted by the start to the season that the club had despite a lacklustre summer window which saw every signing made after the season had began.
James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus have all made big contributions to the performances of the team so far, while Dinos Mavropanos has struggled to displace Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma in defence.

But it’s clear there are still some weaknesses in the squad that need addressing, and it seems as though the fans and the club are all on the same page at least.
A striker is an obvious necessity with Gianluca Scamacca leaving in the summer and not being replaced, with Michail Antonio struggling for form and Danny Ings and Divin Mubama clearly not in the boss’ plans.
Midfield is more a case of being short on numbers rather than a starting option being needed, so it could be interesting to see who is brought in there.
