West Ham United send scouts to watch new striker v Bayern Munich
West Ham sent scouts to watch Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy in the 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on 17 December as they continue to express interest in signing him, according to 90min.
The football news outlet shared on 18 December that West Ham were one of a number of clubs including Manchester United, AC Milan and Fulham who sent officials to track his progress.
Despite Stuttgart’s struggles against Bayern Munich, Guirassy has scored 18 goals in 15 games across all competitions in Germany so far this season.

West Ham must get this done
Given the striker woes West Ham have faced this season, with Michael Antonio struggling for goals and falling foul of injury issues, while Danny Ings provides no better alternative on the goalscoring front, bringing in a new striker has to be their priority in January.
The Hammers have been tracking alternative striker targets ever since Gianluca Scamacca left the club in the summer transfer window, but have been unable to agree on a deal to fill the hole he left behind in East London.
With 18 goals already this season, Guirassy has proven he has the goalscoring instincts the Hammers require, with the main problem with the current crop is their lack of consistency when presented with goalscoring chances – something that has hugely hindered David Moyes’ side.

Antonio is a fine option to have over the course of a season, his hold-up play and presence up top make him an effective forward, but there is no doubt the Hammers would prefer Guirassy’s goalscoring magic in his place.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have triggered a new contract extension.
