West Ham United scouts to jet to Euro 2024 clash as Ferdi Kadioglu transfer update emerges
West Ham United will send a scout team to watch Turkish international Ferdi Kadioglu in action against Austria in Euro 2024, according to Milat Gazetesi.
The Turkish outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (2 July) that the Hammers and eight other teams across Europe including Arsenal and Fulham will be in attendance to watch the left-back in action on Tuesday.
Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen scouts are also expected to make the trip to Leipzig following his impressive start to this summer’s tournament.
Reports have suggested the Hammers and the other eight clubs vying for Kadioglu’s signature this summer have been told that they will have to pay Fenerbache £29.6million to sign him [Fotomac, 2 July].
Will West Ham United win the summer transfer race for Ferdi Kadioglu?
It seems as though every club in Europe has been impressed by Kadioglu’s performances at Europe and if these reports are to be believed, half of the crowd in Leipzig on Tuesday night will be made up of scouting teams.
There is some serious competition for the defender’s signature at this moment in time and while the Irons have money to spend this summer, it remains to be seen if they can compete with the likes of Dortmund and Leverkusen.
It also feels unlikely that left-back will be a priority area for Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten this summer. Unless Emerson leaves East London this summer, he will more than likely continue as the starting left-back again next season.

Aaron Cresswell will be able to provide a rotation option from the bench having penned a new deal at the London Stadium and with no European football on the calendar, the Hammers seem to be equipped to navigate the season.
Hopefully, West Ham will be able to secure their man if they decide this is a deal they want to pursue, but it remains to be seen if their interest will lead to a formal bid or approach.
