West Ham United: Said Benrahma already in France to seal Lyon transfer despite issues remaining

Said Benrahma has travelled to France ahead of a move to Lyon from West Ham, but there are still issues to iron out before a deal can be completed according to Ed Aarons.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (1 February), the Guardian journalist reports that the Algeria international travelled to France ahead of a potential deadline day move with a loan-to-buy deal agreed between the clubs.

But there are still issues remaining around agents’ fees for the deal and therefore it’s not fully agreed yet, but the player has travelled for a medical and Lyon are confident a deal will be completed before the deadline.

This transfer has been on the verge for a while now but it seemed like there was something holding it back, considering that fees were agreed already.

However with Benrahma making the trip across the pond to France it shows that he is keen on the move surely and a deal will be expected to be complete in time now.

Fulham are also said to be pushing to hijack the deal which is another twist on deadline day, but Benrahma is now in France and he’d surely have to fly back to London if he were to complete a move to Craven Cottage.

It’s one to keep an eye on in the coming hours because there have been so many twists and turns already with this deal, but it seems like Lyon is now more likely to be his destination.

West Ham are hoping to cash in either way and could look to surprise fans with a shock incoming of their own to cover his exit, but don’t hold your breath on that one.
