West Ham United renew interest in Duvan Zapata for January transfer
West Ham have joined the race to sign Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata in January, with the player preferring a move to London according to the Daily Mail.
The Hammers are in the market for a new striker to boost their goal threat for the second half of the season, but have already seen a move for Youssef En-Nesyri collapse this month.
They have now turned their attention to Colombian forward Zapata, who is also a target for Everton, and have been told by the Serie A club that he will cost them £25m to move during the winter window.

“Premier League giants West Ham and Everton have both asked about Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata,” they wrote (18 January)
The 31-year-old, who is understood to prefer a move to London should he leave Italy, also has interest from Nottingham Forest, but is valued at £25million. “
Interesting
Zapata is another target who, like En-Nesyri, was a player that Moyes was interested in signing in the past but couldn’t quite get a deal over the line.
It was said before that Zapata “went missing” on deadline day when the Hammers were trying to get a deal done, but that clearly hasn’t put us off trying again.
Zapata has scored 80 goals and registered 40 assists in 174 appearances for Atalanta in Serie A, but has struggled this season and netted just once.
That could be a sign that a new environment is needed to get him firing again, and with Michail Antonio wanted by several teams including Everton and Wolves, he could prove to be an ideal replacement.
The Colombian is a proven goalscorer at the highest level, has great link-up play and is at an age where he is likely to be in the prime of his career so can hit the ground running. This would be a great deal to get done.
