West Ham United receive new last minute Nayef Aguerd exit offer on Transfer Deadline Day
Fiorentina want to sign Nayef Aguerd from West Ham as the “active” club targets a “last minute” deal, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Sky Sports Italy journalist reported via his website early on the final day of the window (30 August) that the Serie A side have made a loan offer for the centre-back as they look to strengthen their defence.
Aguerd is expected to leave before the deadline amid widespread interest from Europa and the Saudi Pro League [Dharmesh Sheth, 26 August].
The former Rennes man rejected a loan move to Wolfsburg [Santi Aouna, 26 August], but the Irons are not believed to be short of offers for him [Daily Mail, 27 August].
Nayef Aguerd expected to follow Kurt Zouma out of West Ham
The Irons aren’t likely to accept a loan offer from Fiorentina if there is a permanent deal to be done elsewhere when the club could do with the financial benefit of a sale.
And if Aguerd, 28, rejected a loan to the Bundesliga he might feel the same about a loan to Serie A, especially after long-held links to Saudi.
Kurt Zouma is already in the Middle Eastern country having seemingly completed a move to Al Orobah [Nawaf Oga, 29 August].

Tim Steidten securing both Max Kilman from Wolves and Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice this summer has made the pair of senior incumbents expendable, since their sizeable wages will be difficult to carry as squad players.
And with Julen Lopetegui hoping to see Carlos Soler arrive from Paris Saint-Germain before the deadline space needs to be made on the wage bill to make that happen [The Times, 26 August].
Aguerd’s refusal to take the German exit route has slowed the arrival for the Spanish midfielder [Guardian, 26 August] so there is still plenty to get done on the final day.
