West Ham United ready to walk away from Niclas Fullkrug transfer – Sky Sports
West Ham United are prepared to walk away from negotiations to sign Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund, according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster reported via their Transfer Centre on Friday morning (2 August, 08:03am) that the Irons are “working hard to finalise a deal with Borussia Dortmund”.
It is understood that the 31-year-old Germany striker is keen on a move to the London Stadium but the Hammers are yet to agree the terms of a deal with Dortmund.
Sky Sports add that if they cannot agree on the right finances for the deal, they will walk away with Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran a potential alternative.
West Ham United could walk away from yet another new signing
West Ham fans have endured a bit of a frustrating summer.
At the end of the day, the fans must be pleased with the signings that Tim Steidten and new manager Julen Lopetegui have made together. However, there have been a few times the club have fallen short in transfer negotiations.
As per Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the Hammers had an agreement with Bayern Munich for right-back Noussair Mazraoui but backed out of the deal when they couldn’t agree terms with the player.
The Mirror reported in May that a deal for Brazilian defender Fabricio Bruno also collapsed.

There have been others and it looks like Fullkrug could fall into that category unless Dortmund lower their demands for the striker.
Fullkrug was a vital player for them last season as they reached the Champions League final but he is someone who’s ageing and Dortmund are a club famed for putting faith in younger players, especially those who’ve come through their academy.
West Ham could play on that a bit and Fullkrug might also need to agitate for the move if he really wants it because there’s no doubt he’ll be the starting number nine in East London if he does join the Hammers.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have started transfer “poker” as talks are underway for another new arrival.
