West Ham United ready to offer £35m for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca

West Ham United are prepared to offer £35million for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca as the Hammers wait on the 23-year-old to decide his next destination according to The Daily Mail.

According to Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on Tuesday 12 July (via his personal Website), the Hammers have tabled a bid of £33.7million.

However, The Mail has suggested in its print edition (page 83, 14 July) that the Hammers would only be prepared to offer £35million for the striker, should Sassuolo turn their initial offer down.

Scamacca has been heavily linked to PSG, however, it has been suggested by Le10Sport (13 July) that the Hammers’ interest has made him doubt his move to Paris.

Big offer needed

West Ham may need to offer slightly more if they want to secure the services of the 23-year-old Italy striker.

His 16 goals in Serie A, along with international recognition has made Scamacca one of Europe’s hottest properties and it is no surprise that the likes of PSG are looking at the Sassuolo striker.

West Ham are showing some real intent by going for the striker and are clearly serious about concluding a deal with the Italian side.

Coming to terms with Sassuolo may not be the tricky part of this deal.

West Ham

Convincing the Italy international to make the switch to the Premier League could well make or break this potential transfer saga.

Scamacca should take the Hammers’ interest seriously and assess where his best chances of playing regular first-team football lie.

A move to PSG is certainly a glamourous one for the striker but ultimately he will be the second choice to some huge names in Paris.

If he moves to the London Stadium the striker would be the main man in David Moyes’ frontline and provide some fierce competition to Michail Antonio.

This is certainly a move the club hierarchy wants to happen.
