West Ham United ready to accept Arsenal bid for Declan Rice as Bayern Munich update emerges

West Ham United are ready to accept Arsenal’s bid of £85million plus bonus payments for Declan Rice, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Guardian shared on 12 June that West Ham and the Gunners were close to agreeing a deal for the 24-year-old, which would be in excess of £100million.

Sky Sports Germany reporter Plettenberg took to Twitter on Tuesday morning (13 June) to share that Bayern Munich bosses were still “sceptical” of a move for Rice and the German giants have yet submit an offer of their own.

“Bayern want to discuss him internally again today,” he wrote.

“After the meeting with Hernandez. But still no offer yet. Bosses are sceptical. Instead, Arsenal is preparing a final bid of more than €100m plus bonus payments.

“West Ham is willing to say yes. Bayern is aware of Arsenal‘s new offer. Transfer very unlikely as reported but no final decision yet.”

Getting closer

Rice has been closing in on his West Ham United exit for quite some time now, and it seems like the midfielder is Emirates-bound this summer.

The German giants and Arsenal have looked the most likely suitors in the early stages of the summer, but the price tag has always been the point of interest.

It looks as though Bayern bosses could be dissuaded by the £100million plus figure that the Hammers are holding out for. The German giants have been renowned for their smart use of the transfer market in recent years, using the free market especially well – suggesting that this move was always against their normal approach.

From a Hammers perspective, it seems like they want to move on from the Rice transfer saga and allow David Moyes to start planning potential replacements in the summer transfer window.

Selling the England international at this early date will give the Scottish manager plenty of time to do his due diligence on midfield options in the market and hopefully bolster the squad sufficiently ahead of the new Premier League season.
