West Ham United ready paperwork for quickfire Max Kilman transfer

West Ham United are preparing the documents to sign Max Kilman from Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The journalist took to his Instagram on 4 July and shared that the defender’s medical is ongoing after the Hammers and Wolves have agreed upon a £40million deal.

Romano also added that the deal is scheduled to be completed and all paperwork is set to be signed within the next 24 hours.

What Max Kilman will bring to the West Ham United squad

It’s no surprise to anyone that West Ham have been vying for the transfer of at least one centre-back this summer.

Indeed, Kilman has been the one most regularly linked with a move to the capital but at times, it felt as if a move wasn’t going to be made.

Julen Lopetegui had two bids turned down [The Sun, 23 June, Page 56] for his former player but failed to give up on his priority target.

The addition of Kilman will be a welcome one for all at West Ham, especially since the future of Nayef Aguerd is still raising question marks.

This would leave the Hammers with just Kurt Zouma and Konstantinos Mavropanos who can be deployed at centre-back.

But, with the former being offered in a swap deal for Jean Clair-Todibo [Graeme Bailey, 4 July], it looks as if an entire defensive overhaul is set to take place at the London Stadium this summer.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers could enter a bidding war with Atletico Madrid for a transfer target this summer.
