West Ham United ready official offer for Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto

West Ham United are ready to make an official bid to sign Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto, according to BolaVIP.

The Brazilian outlet reported on 28 July that the Hammers have recently made enquiries about the player, but are ready to make them official.

Premier League rivals Everton also had Alberto on their radar but are yet to make an offer for the attacker, with other names on their radar.

It’s evident that despite the Hammers’ need for defensive reinforcement, Julen Lopetegui is likely to target further attacking additions.

The club has already added Luis Guilherme to their ranks to help alleviate some pressure from the shoulders of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus.

The London-based club has been previously linked with the striker in last summer’s transfer window [Dharmesh Sheth, 30 August 2023] but nothing ever came to fruition.

In fact, the Brazilian even came close to joining Wolves but again, the move collapsed.

Alberto is just 23 years old so has plenty of room to be developed and crafted into the number nine that Lopetegui desires.

To make things even sweeter, the one-time Brazil-capped striker has a keen eye for goal as he managed to score 17 last season.

All in all, the addition of a number nine is well-needed at the London Stadium, especially if Michail Antonio chooses to depart [GZH, 28 June].

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have submitted a £15million bid for an attacking target.
