West Ham United ready cut-price deal for Calvert-Lewin, Everton exit on cards
West Ham United are preparing to approach Everton over a January deal forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to GiveMeSport.
The news outlet reported on Monday (13 January) that Graham Potter’s side have identified Calvert-Lewin as a replacement for the injured Niclas Fullkrug and hope a cut-price deal can be agreed with Everton.
West Ham have been monitoring the developments at Goodison Park as the forward enters the final months of his contract [TEAMtalk] and are encouraged to make a January move with no contract renewal in sight.
West Ham United want to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Under Julen Lopetegui, West Ham could have completed a £20million move for Calvert-Lewin last summer [Joe Thomas].
The 27-year-old was offered to the Irons via intermediaries for an initial £35m, and the long game could be set to pay off in East London.
Calvert-Lewin was expected to be a hot commodity in the winter transfer market as his Everton contract nears expiry, but no reported interest from Serie A has materialised in a concrete approach.
His reliable fitness record, considering the Hammers are without Fullkrug, Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen, has encouraged Potter to pursue a move this month.
However, from his 16 Premier League starts this season, Calvert-Lewin has scored twice for Everton, and any potential move could tempt Newcastle United and Atalanta to enter the race.

From a financial perspective, Calvert-Lewin would be an astute first signing for Potter, but concerns remain regarding his ability to be a consistent goalscorer in the top flight.
While he would have the talented duo of Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta to provide chances in East London, it is still a massive risk to take at this stage with only a seven-point gap to the relegation zone.
Regardless, should Potter believe the England international is the man to lead the new era at the London Stadium, Tim Steidten must move fast.
