West Ham United reach multi-million Mazraoui agreement, £3.3m add-ons included – Sky Sports

West Ham United have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich for the signing of Noussair Mazraoui, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Sky Sports Germany journalist reported via his personal X account on Thursday (25 July) that the Irons have agreed to pay an upfront fee of £13million, plus £3.3million in add-ons.

It is understood that the Londoners, who are leading Manchester United in the race to sign Mazraoui, have also got a “verbal agreement in principle” over personal terms with the 26-year-old Morocco right-back.

Plettenberg adds that while it’s not yet a done deal. it’s looking good for West Ham in their bid to bolster Julen Lopetegui’s backline.

Who are West Ham going to sign next in summer transfer window?

It looks as though Mazraoui is going to be the newest of Julen Lopetegui’s recruits at the London Stadium.

Since arriving as manager, the Spaniard has worked with Tim Steidten to oversee the arrivals of Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman.

The Irons have spent a fair bit, too. While Foderingham arrived on a free, Guilherme cost £25.5million and Kilman has set the London club back by £40million.

It means that if this deal is struck for Mazraoui, West Ham will have spent a total of almost £82million if the add-ons are included.

Thilo Kehrer, Nathan Trott, Said Benrahma and Flynn Downes have all been sold to offset that spend but this is quite the statement of intent by David Sullivan. It’s very obvious that he’s backing his new manager, as well as Steidten.

Mazraoui will offer a lot of experience to West Ham’s defence having made 55 appearances with Bayern Munich, playing over 130 times for Ajax and winning 28 caps for Morocco.

He’s won titles in the Netherlands and in Germany so who’s to say he can’t also lift silverware in East London in the coming years?
