West Ham United pushing Maxwel Cornet towards exit, talks with Everton ongoing
West Ham are pushing Maxwel Cornet towards the exit before Friday’s transfer deadline with Everton in talks about signing him, reports Ignazio Genuardi.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (30 August), the former editor of Football 365 France reports that the Hammers are looking to sell the former Lyon and Burnley forward.
And talks are currently ongoing with fellow Premier League side Everton about a deal before the deadline on September 1 at 11pm that would see him move to Goodison Park.
“Pushed towards the exit by West Ham, the former Messin and Lyonnais Cornet can notably count on the interest of another Premier League team: Everton,” he wrote. “Ongoing discussions.”
Ouch
It seems that the club have opted to make this decision to let Cornet go quickly, and their banking on a Premier League side taking him off their hands.
Right now in attack David Moyes has got all of Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals, Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio, Danny Ings and Mohammed Kudus to call upon, while talks over a short-term deal for Jesse Lingard are said to be progressing too.

That leaves very little room remaining for Cornet to get minutes, and after his injury troubles last year it seems that Moyes has made the decision to move on without him.
Time is running out already for the Hammers to find him a new home, but Everton are known to need a winger after their own approaches this summer for several players came to little.
This is certainly one to keep an eye on in the final days of the window as it could move quickly due to the deadline, but it’s surely all about getting the right deal rather than just letting him go under any circumstances.
