West Ham United progress in Jean-Clair Todibo chase after twists in last 36 hours
West Ham will announce the signing of Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo on Saturday, 10 August, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports news journalist reported on 10 August that the contracts were signed early morning and the 24-year-old is set to move to the London Stadium.
It’s understood to have been a chaotic last 36 hours but the Hammers appear set to secure the signing of the France international.
Via X, Sheth wrote: “Formal announcement of Jean-Clair Todibo’s move to West Ham expected today. Culmination of whirlwind 36 hours. Tim Steidten flew to Nice on Thursday after hearing move was on because Juventus couldn’t agree. Medical Friday. Contract signed in early hours of this morning.”
Tim Steidten pulls out all stops to bring Jean-Clair Todibo to West Ham
When Tim Stediten joined, he wasn’t overly popular with the fanbase as a large section sided with David Moyes.
Winning the Conference League, certainly gave the Scotsman more time but it became clear he wasn’t the long-term fit.
Steidten was brought in to build this side for the longer term and his signings this summer have proven to be exactly that.
Julen Lopetegui has got the transfer window he would’ve wished for, which is unlike what a number of his predecessors got.
This means that the Spaniard will have to hit the ground running as this side is capable of going to the next level.
He does like to play an expansive style of football and most of the signings in this window have been to cater to that brand.
In other West Ham news, the club are likely to have a specific training routine in place as a bid has been made for an attacker likened to Kylian Mbappe.
