West Ham United progress emerges in Carlos Soler transfer deal
West Ham attempt to accelerate their pursuit to sign PSG midfielder Carlos Soler ahead of Brighton, according to L’Equipe.
The news outlet reported on 19 August that terms of an agreement are being discussed with the Ligue 1 side.
It’s understood that the Hammers have stolen a march on the Seagulls to sign the 27-year-old Spanish midfielder.
West Ham must agree personal terms to sign Carlos Soler
If Soler agrees personal terms with the Hammers, it could significantly pressure PSG to lower their valuation as the midfielder’s willingness to move to the London Stadium indicates his preference for the club, potentially reducing the French side’s leverage in negotiations.
They might fear that holding out for their initial price could lead to the 27-year-old becoming unsettled, affecting team morale or his performance.
With Brighton also in the race, PSG might see West Ham’s interest as a sign that the Spaniard’s market value might not reach their expectations, prompting them to reconsider their asking price to ensure a sale before the transfer window closes.
Soler’s agreement with the Irons could set a deadline for PSG so if they delay, they risk losing the opportunity to cash in on Soler this transfer window, especially if other interested clubs move on to different targets.

The Hammers have been shrewd about their transfer activity this summer and must get this one over the line as soon as possible.
In other West Ham news, a winger wanted by the Hammers has been left “shocked” at how he’s been treated by his club and wants to leave ahead of the 30 August deadline.
