West Ham United player on verge of exit as footage emerges from airport
Maxwel Cornet has been spotted in an Italian airport ahead of his loan move from West Ham United to Serie A Side Genoa.
A video, shared by TuttomercatoWEB via X [19 January] shows a video of the attacker after he’d just touched down.
The Ivorian had his loan deal with Southampton terminated and is now set to try his luck in Italy.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth reported last week that Genoa were the most likely club to sign Cornet on loan.
Maxwel Cornet has done right thing by leaving West Ham again
Since his arrival from Burnley, Cornet hasn’t had the best of times at the London Stadium, with the attacker often being left out of the squad by each of the managers that have come in.
Prior to his London Stadium switch, he was one of Burnley’s most impressive players thanks to his electric pace and keen eye for a pass.
The last couple of seasons will have no doubt been tough for the Ivorian as he’s had little to no game time, even when he was with relegation battlers Southampton.

Now that his loan deal with the Saints has been terminated, it could be time for the attacker to get his career back on track, which, in reality, is all that anybody involved with West Ham would want.
And, who knows, if he does manage to prove his worth and perhaps get a few goals under his belt, he could well make his way back into the Hammers’ set-up next season.
