West Ham United player mooted to join super-rich club in transfer twist
West Ham winger Luis Guilherme is subject to transfer interest from Saudi Pro League duo Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadsiah, according to the Sun.
The news outlet reported on 15 January that the Hammers may consider cashing in on the 18-year-old in order to raise funds for new signings.
Since his summer move to the London Stadium, the Brazilian teenager has barely featured for the first team.
West Ham can look to make a profit on Luis Guilherme
Al-Ittihad, are not only title challengers in the Saudi Pro League, they are also super rich and have extremely deep pockets.
Saudi’s Public Investment Fund took over the club in June 2023, per the BBC, and that’s primarily because they’re viewed as one of the clubs capable of attracting big names.
Per the Sun report linked above, the Hammers paid a colossal £20million for Guilherme and it’s not an investment that’s borne fruit thus far.
Despite being signed under Julen Lopetegui, he was barely used by the Spaniard and with an exit likely to be on the cards, he’s probably not that highly rated by Graham Potter either.
Rather than spending such big money on players who could be good in a few years, the club need to bring in proven talent.

Hopefully, Potter’s arrival will change the way the club operate in the transfer window and there’s more efficiency with regards to the incomings.
In other West Ham news, sources claim the Hammers can now secure the services of a £40m player in January.
