West Ham United plan for Divin Mubama shared despite contract stalemate

West Ham are planning to loan 19-year-old striker Divin Mubama out for the rest of the season if he signs a new deal at the London Stadium, according to Claret & Hugh.

The West Ham news source shared via their website on 31 October that, despite the current stalemate in talks between the club and Mubama, they are planning to allow him to leave for game time in January.

It is also shared that the Hammers remain hopeful that a deal over a new contract can be found between all parties, after The Athletic [30 October] reported Mubama had turned down an offer.

A loan deal makes sense

Sending Mubama out on loan to a Championship side for the rest of the season seems like it could be the perfect resolution for all parties if the Hammers can convince him to agree terms and tie his future down at the London Stadium.

The striker obviously wants minutes, having been given his first taste of first-team football last season when he bagged his first senior goal for the club in the Europa Conference League, but he has found game time hard to come by so far this time out.

His only appearances have come from the bench against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup and in a late cameo appearance against Freiburg in the Europa League.

Given the ongoing striker situation at West Ham, Mubama would have been well within his rights to expect more game time, but a loan move to a club that can guarantee him first-team football and an opportunity to prove his worth to West Ham would be the perfect scenario.
