West Ham United personal terms update emerges on signing new striker Niclas Fullkrug
West Ham United are confident of securing a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist reported on X [30 July] that the Irons have opened talks with the Bundesliga giants over the possible signing of Fullkrug, who is said to be open to the move.
The German international’s eagerness to make the move to London is expected to make the transfer easier to complete, with the two clubs now “discussing the conditions of a deal” as shared by Sheth.
It had emerged via Sheth’s X account [29 July] that Fullkrug had emerged as a target for Julen Lopetegui’s side, as they also persevere for fellow forward Jhon Duran from Aston Villa.
West Ham could benefit from Fullkrug signing
West Ham have so far been ambitious in the market, regardless of the success rate of their recruitment operation under Tim Steidten.
Whilst some deals have fallen through such as that of Brazil defender Fabricio Bruno, and pursuits such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka could go one of two ways, the Hammers have been proactive in completing deals for the likes of Max Kilman and Luis Guilherme.
Fullkrug would add a different dimension to Lopetegui’s attack and is enjoying a later career prime at the age of 31, having first pulled on the German jersey just two years ago – since scoring 13 in 21 caps.

A scoring rate of a goal every two games at former club Werder Bremen earned him a move to Dortmund on deadline day last summer, adding another 12 Bundesliga goals.
The club’s chase for Duran from Villa is slowed by a host of competition for the youngster’s signature, and Fullkrug could propose the option of a ready-made, experienced alternative.
