West Ham United open to offers for Maxwel Cornet in January
West Ham United are open to offers for winger Maxwel Cornet in January after deciding to cut their losses on him, according to talkSPORT.
Writing on their website (8 December), the radio station report that the £17.5m forward is out of favour under David Moyes after failing to convince the manager that he is worthy of a regular run of games.
The Ivorian has started just twice in the Premier League since joining from Burnley in the summer of 2022 and has dropped way down the pecking order, so is now considered available for a transfer in the upcoming window.

“West Ham are open to offers for out-of-favour Maxwel Cornet,” they wrote.
“The Hammers are ready to cut their losses on £17.5m Cornet, who has never managed to convince David Moyes he is worthy of a regular run in his team.
“In fact, since joining the Hammers from Burnley in the summer of 2022, Cornet has started just two Premier League games.”
No shock
It’s been a long time coming, but it just never worked out for Cornet at the London Stadium and it’s time for him to move on.
There were concerns at the time of his transfer about his injury history but after quite a good campaign with Burnley we took the gamble in the hope that we could help him.

But he picked up a calf injury that kept him out for several months and in that time he fell way down the pecking order under Moyes, who has since added even more talent in those areas of the pitch.
£17.5m was a large chunk of money but he still has a decent amount of time left on his contract and that means we should be able to generate a more than decent fee to move him on.
His goal record is good and with so many teams battling against potential relegation this season, the January window is the perfect time to find him a suitor and take advantage of that.
It’s a shame, but it’s the right decision undoubtedly.
