West Ham United officials sent to watch Bazoumana Toure amid transfer race for Hammarby gem

West Ham have sent scouts to watch Hammarby attacker Bazoumana Toure amid growing interest in the teenage attacker, TBR Football has said.

The online outlet reported via their website on 29 October that the Hammers were among “up to a dozen” British clubs that sent their recruitment team to see Hammarby defeat Sirius 3-0 on Saturday (26 October).

Other Premier League sides such as Aston Villa, Newcastle and Tottenham were all also in attendance to see the 18-year-old chip in with two goals and an assist, TBR said.

West Ham United don’t need Bazoumana Toure

Even though The Mirror rates the 18-year-old’s value at around a bargain £5million, it still feels like this move is one the Hammers don’t need to make.

They already have several players within their ranks who can occupy the flanks such as Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus and, while depth is always needed, they have plenty of that now too thanks to their summer transfer window.

In fact, Lopetegui already has an 18-year-old at his disposal in Luis Guilherme who arrived in the summer but hasn’t yet been afforded much of a run in the first team.

Of course, Bowen’s recent form could have a part to play in that equation but someone such as Kudus has been below par this term.

With this in mind, if the Hammers were to add Toure to their ranks he’d likely be pushed to the side just like the Brazilian starlet has been and his development would also likely be hindered.

There are plenty of other areas within Lopetegui’s ranks that need sorting in January before their attack so a transfer feels like it would make little sense, especially with the players West Ham already have.

In other West Ham news, a spokesman for David Sullivan has shared why the Hammers’ move for Ruben Amorim fell apart.
