West Ham United offered chance to sign Kiko Femenia with Villarreal exit lined up for January transfer window
West Ham have been offered the chance to sign Kiko Femenia from Villarreal, according to the Daily Mirror.
The newspaper reported on page 58 of its print edition on Thursday (14 December) that the 32-year-old right-back is set to leave the La La club in January.
It said intermediaries have “sounded out” both the Hammers and Crystal Palace about signing the Spaniard, who previously had a stint with Watford in the Premier League.

Not worth it
This is a deal that wouldn’t be worthwhile for West Ham because there’s clearly a reason why Villarreal, who sit in the bottom half of La Liga, are trying to sell him.
The right-back has only made one start in his six appearances in the league so far this season to go alongside four outings in the Europa League and Copa Del Rey [Transfermarkt].
While the Spaniard does have decent experience after playing more than 100 games for Watford in the Premier League, he turns 33 in February and is more than likely on the decline.

The Hammers are fairly happy with Vladimir Coufal following his performances this season, while Thilo Kehrer and Ben Johnson – despite not always being the most reliable options – can do a job at right-back on their day.
It wouldn’t make sense for us to make a move for Femenia as we should be looking to find a younger, long-term replacement for Coufal instead.
In other West Ham news, a journalist has made a “big” Moyes admission ahead of a sit-down with the Hammers hierarchy.
