West Ham United offer Kurt Zouma swap in approach for new transfer

West Ham United have offered captain Kurt Zouma to Nice as part of a deal to sign Jean Clair-Todibo this summer, according to Graeme Bailey.

The journalist reported on X that the Hammers are in talks for deals regarding both Todibo and Wolves skipper Max Kilman.

Talks between Nice and the London-based club have since stalled but hope is still there that a deal can be struck.

Why West Ham United are looking at defensive reinforcements this summer

One thing that all West Ham fans can agree on is the fact that their defence needed a massive overhaul going into the 2024/25 season.

Change has already been aplenty at the London Stadium with Julen Lopetegui already taking over as manager and with the likes of Wes Foderingham and Luis Guilherme already arriving.

Despite their poor defensive performance across the campaign, the London-based outfit managed to finish in a respectable ninth place but will likely be looking to improve that this term.

Both Todibo and Kilman would be extremely solid options and the Hammers look to be signing Wolves’ captain for a fee of around £40million [Dharmesh Sheth, 4 July].

He would likely slot straight into Lopetegui’s tactics due to their history of working together and would help improve the defensive line tenfold.

In the case of Todibo, the fact that Manchester United are also vying for his transfer shows how much he’d impact the squad.

If both arrive this summer, their chances of European football would be drastically increased.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers may have been given some hope in their pursuit of Jaden Philogene.
