West Ham United now want to sign Newcastle star Kieran Trippier after double transfer failure

Kieran Trippier is among the full-back options that West Ham United are interested in signing, according to The Telegraph.

The Newspaper reported on 7 August that the England international is on the Hammers’ radar as they look to sign a right back.

The 33-year-old has been linked with Saudi Arabian clubs and now the Irons are monitoring whether he will be available to sign.

The former Tottenham man’s deal at Newcastle is until 2025 which would allow him to speak to clubs about a pre-contract in January.

The position has been earmarked by Julen Lopetegui with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Kyle Walker-Peters also considered but deals are not currently possible.

West Ham want Kieran Trippier

There is no doubt that there is a certain profile of player that the Hammers’ new head coach is interested in signing.

This has seen the likes of Max Kilman and Guido Rodriguez come through the doors at the London Stadium already in the window.

On the flip side, Tim Steidten has moved to bring in some younger players like Luis Guilherme who joined earlier in the summer.

Trippier would fit into the older side of the profile that the club are looking at signing but he would bring so much experience to the squad.

The right-back has featured heavily in the Champions League and on the international stage as a regular.

This would make it surprising to see Newcastle part ways with the Englishman but the Hammers could step in and take advantage.

Vladimir Coufal needs some competition and there is no doubt that Trippier would add that in bucket loads.

In other West Ham news, the Irons are also keen on bringing in another striker despite signing Niclas Fullkrug this week.
