West Ham United now want to sign Chelsea ace Trevoh Chalobah amid Italian development
West Ham United are now vying for the transfer of Chelsea ace Trevoh Chalobah after Jean Clair-Todibo deal fails to progress, according to Tutto Juve.
The Italian outlet reported on 26 July that after the deal for the Nice star has seemingly made no progression, the Hammers are now vying for the transfer of Chalobah this summer.
This comes after the defender was told that he was no longer in Chelsea’s plans following the new addition of Tosin Adarbioyo this summer.
West Ham United finally set sights away from Jean Clair-Todibo
After what seems like one of the longest transfer sagas of the 2024/25 summer window, Julen Lopetegui has seemingly finally chosen to give up his pursuit of Todibo.
Although the club had an initial loan bid with an option to buy worth around £30.2million accepted by Nice [Santi Aouna, 17 July], a move never came to fruition.
In fact, it was reported just yesterday that the Frenchman had formally rejected the Hammers’ offer [Sky Italy, 25 July] to try and entice him to the London Stadium this summer.
There’s no doubt that Todibo would have been a stellar addition to Lopetegui’s ranks.

But, evidently, this wasn’t meant to be, and now West Ham have found themselves vying for the addition of Chalobah to their ranks.
The Chelsea ace would also be an unreal acquisition for the London-based club and could maybe be an even better option than Todibo.
Due to things such as his Premier League experience and ability to play in either a defensive three or in a partnership.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers will need to act fast if they want to sign Reiss Nelson this summer.
