West Ham United new signings hit with ‘travel issues’ as announcement now hours away

West Ham are to announce the signings of Niclas Fullkrug and Guido Rodriguez in the next 24 to 48 hours, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

Writing via his personal X account on Sunday (4 August), Sheth reported that both are having medicals before the end of the day after “travel issues delayed arrivals” on Saturday.

It is understood there are no issues with the deals, which explains the hold-up, and as long as there are no problems with the medicals, the Irons will officially unveil the Germany striker and Argentina midfielder as their latest additions to Julen Lopetegui’s squad.

West Ham United set to sign Fullkrug and Rodriguez

Hammers fans have got to be really happy about this double signing.

Lopetegui and Tim Steidten have added youth and experience to their squad this summer with their signings so far.

Crysencio Summerville, 22, and Luis Guilherme, 18, have both been added to Lopetegui’s attack while in the defence, Max Kilman, 27, has joined to add someone at the peak of his career with a good amount of Premier League experience.

Away from those, Wes Foderingham is a seasoned backup option in goals and now Fullkrug, who is 31, played in a Champions League final last season and capped 21 times by Germany, and Rodriguez, who is 30, a World Cup winner and capped 30 times by Argentina, are also set to join.

It’s going to give West Ham one of the best attacks in the league with Fullkrug supported by the likes of Summerville, Guilherme, Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta while Rodriguez, with Edson Alvarez, Tomas Soucek and James Ward-Prowse, makes for a mean midfield that can both break up play and create it.

This is shaping up to be a great summer for the Hammers.
