West Ham United may have Yunus Musah answer as Rubem Amorim makes pre-season decision

West Ham United may finally have an answer in their long-running transfer pursuit of AC Milan midfielder Yunus Musah.

The 47-cap United States international has reportedly been on the Hammers' radar for over a year.

However, West Ham's transfer plans were obviously complicated by their relegation from the Premier League.

Mateus Fernandes has been sold to Tottenham in an £85million deal, and other big names have been linked with the exit door.

It means any focus on incomings has been a little wishy-washy, as player sales have taken precedent in the early stages of the window.

Their hopes of bringing Musah to the London Stadium may have already been kiboshed anyway.

What's Yunus Musah's status at AC Milan?

West Ham were linked with Musah again as recently as April, but their demotion to the second tier has complicated plans this summer.

However, it looks as though West Ham and any other potential suitors of Musah are going to miss out.

According to SBI Soccer and the Athletic journalist Larry Henry Jr, Musah is going to be part of AC Milan's 26-man pre-season squad.

Former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim was recently named as the new head coach of the Rossoneri.

The Portuguese is clearly planning to have a closer look at the 23-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Atalanta.

It all points to one thing, and that is Musah is clearly going to be out of West Ham's reach this summer.

Nuno Espirito Santo would not be better off looking at other targets as he plots a route back to the top flight.

Who have West Ham been linked to this summer?

West Ham are clearly ready to be active in the transfer market as they look to rebuild this summer.

Ecuador midfielder Denil Castillo, currently playing for Midtjylland, is among those linked to West Ham.

Nottingham Forest midfield James McAtee, and Brighton winger Tom Watson are also said to be on the Hammers' radar.

Simon Adingra and Sydie Peck are also among the more prominent transfer rumours at the London Stadium in recent days.

The Hammers will now be keen to push on with their transfer plans and get players in for a good chunk of pre-season training.
