West Ham United may be forced to sell one star to avoid Premier League rule breach
West Ham could be forced into selling one of their players to avoid breaching Premier League rules, according to the Evening Standard.
The newspaper reported on its website on 30 August that the Hammers may be required to shift a foreign player depending on their business before the transfer deadline on Friday (1 September), with only 17 players of the 25-man squad being allowed to not be homegrown.
Following the signings of Edson Alvarez, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Mohammed Kudus, another foreign player may have to join Manuel Lanzini and Gianluca Scamacca in exiting East London this summer if a further addition is made in the next 36 hours.

Likely
It seems pretty likely that West Ham will be forced to let another non-homegrown player leave during this window as the club are desperate to bring in an overseas forward.
The Irons’ technical director Tim Steidten is currently in Brazil trying to thrash out a deal for a new striker and that would mean someone has to be shown the exit door.
The most likely candidate looks to be Maxwell Cornet after he has struggled to impress since signing from Burnley last year, with the Daily Mail reporting on 31 August that the Hammers are in talks with Everton over sanctioning the departure of the Ivory Coast international.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the versatile forward move on given that he has fallen well down the pecking order under David Moyes.
He hasn’t had much chance to impress and could still prove his worth for us, but if his exit means a new striker can come in, then it’s a necessary step we have to take.
In other West Ham news, the club have turned their attentions to a £51million-rated forward.
