West Ham United make new loan offer for Youssef En-Nesyri with £22m obligation to buy

West Ham have tabled a new loan bid with a £22m obligation to buy Youssef En-Nesyri which Sevilla are happy to accept, according to AS.

The Hammers were reported to have tabled a new loan bid for the Morocco international on Monday (9 January), but Sevilla were always said to be unsure of the deal as there was no option or obligation to buy.

But according to a new report in the Spanish press (10 January, page 19) the London club have now returned with a new offer that includes an obligation to buy in the summer, which Sevilla are happy to accept.

The issue however is that En-Nesyri isn’t interested in a move to the London Stadium, with his intention to stay in La Liga seen as an “insurmountable stumbling block”.

David Moyes will need to convince him to change his mind if he wants to get this deal over the line, but it seems unlikely currently.

Problem

West Ham have wanted to get a deal over the line for several years now, and after finally managing to convince Sevilla to part ways with their striker he now doesn’t want to join.

Typical.

En-Nesyri may not be the answer to West Ham’s problems this season, with no league goals scored so far as Sevilla sit in 17th place in La Liga, but his performances in the World Cup in Qatar have done the job to convince everyone.

West Ham

He got two goals in seven games for Morocco as they finished fourth and played in an incredibly defensive manner, which is something that Moyes has been criticised for doing.

There are still three weeks remaining in the January transfer window so there is plenty of time for the Hammers to be able to convince him to make the switch.

With Scamacca and Antonio both in the squad it probably shouldn’t be a priority position to strengthen, but we need goals to stay up so the more sources of that the better.
