West Ham United make final Cummings decision after latest Celtic development
West Ham United will no longer pursue a deal for Celtic striker Daniel Cummings on transfer deadline day, according to Sky Sports.
The news outlet reports (3 February) that the Hoops have rejected the Hammers’ improved offer for the 18-year-old centre-forward.
As a result, the Irons are pulling the plug on a winter transfer with pre-contract terms already agreed with the Scottish youngster for a move next summer.
Daniel Cummings to complete West Ham United transfer next summer
It seems like Cummings is set to arrive at the London Stadium, if not in the coming hours, then at the end of the season.
The East London club evidently have high hopes for the 18-year-old, and it will be interesting to see how he will fare in English football.
While the Scotsman hasn’t played much top-flight football, he did feature for Celtic in their Champions League loss to Aston Villa away from home on 29 January.
Graham Potter looks to be in desperate need of a new striker and Evan Ferguson’s signing seems to be just a matter of time at the Hammers.
In recent matches, West Ham have played with Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus as their number nines.

Danny Ings is still at the former Brighton boss’ disposal, but despite Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio’s injuries, the English striker hasn’t been relied on.
Potter doesn’t seem to trust the former Southampton ace, which makes the addition of another striker essential.
Cummings is unlikely to make an instant impact on his potential arrival at London Stadium, but he has the talent to leave a lasting impression.
In other West Ham news, James Ward-Prowse’s availability for the Chelsea fixture has been revealed.
