West Ham United make ‘convincing’ approach to sign Crysencio Summerville this summer
West Ham United are the only team to have made a “convincing” approach for Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville this summer, according to Caught Offside.
The outlet reported this on 26 July and stated that the Hammers are “actively” working on striking a deal for the Dutchman.
There are also other English teams involved with Chelsea touted as having the most significant interest outside of the Hammers.
West Ham United should throw everything at Crysencio Summerville this season
Last season was without doubt the best form of Summerville’s career. The attacker managed to win the Championship’s Player of the Season award and showcased the talent he possesses.
Within the Leeds squad, Summerville is arguably one of the most important cogs to Daniel Farke’s machine.
His clinical finishing ability alongside his versatility are two key factors in his game.
These are two factors that the Hammers need to improve on for future attacker transfers.
Last term Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus carried the London-based club’s attack and were left to do most of the attacking work.
Luis Guilherme has already been brought in [The Athletic, 13 June] to alleviate some pressure but if someone such as Michail Antonio exits [GZH, 29 June], they’ll need to find a solid replacement.

Although the Dutchman is more of a finger, his addition would allow Bowen or Kudus to move more centrally and perhaps create extra chances up front.
And, now that it has been reported that the Hammers are the only team who have made an acceptable offer to the West Yorkshire club, we could see Summerville in the Premier League for Lopetegui next term.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers will need to act fast if they want to sign Reiss Nelson this summer.
