West Ham United make Aaron Wan-Bissaka transfer push as Manchester United exit close

West Ham United are pushing to finalise the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on Monday (5 August, 14:16) that the two clubs are getting closer to agreeing a deal for the right-back to complete a summer move to the London Stadium.

Personal terms are not expected to be an issue between the defender and the Hammers while the two clubs are still looking to come to an agreement over the structure of the deal and the fees included to finalise the signing.

Will Aaron Wan-Bissaka exit Manchester United amid West Ham United transfer rumours?

It may not have got off to a flying start, but the summer transfer window is certainly now up and running for the Hammers as Julen Lopetegui continues his preparations ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

While nothing is finalised in terms of Wan-Bissaka’s future, it does seem as though the Hammers are doing everything in their power to secure a deal for the right-back and it may not be too long before an agreement is reached.

Right-back may not have been the top priority at the start of the summer, with deals for Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville and Niclas Fullkrug all more important, but this could prove to be a crucial addition.

Vladimir Coufal has provided a steady and reliable presence on the right of defence ever since he arrived in East London, but he has needed some competition for his place in the starting XI, especially now that Ben Johnson has departed.

Hopefully, Wan-Bissaka will do exactly that.

There still appear to be a few hurdles to jump before any deal can be confirmed this summer, but right now it does seem as though there may be yet another new face in Lopetegui’s ranks at the start of the season.
