West Ham United: Lyon continuing negotiations over Said Benrahama transfer despite slow progress
Lyon are continuing negotiations over a potential January transfer deal for West Ham ace Said Benrahma despite the slow progress in talks, according to L’Equipe.
The respected French news outlet reported on 17 January that, despite the imminent arrival of Nigerian striker Gift Orban in an £11million deal, Lyon are continuing negotiations with Benrahma.
This news has come following a report from FootMercato [16 January] which claimed Lyon had a loan-to-buy bid for the Algerian winger rejected by West Ham.

This deal will have to speed up
Benrahma has been linked with a move away from the Hammers since the transfer window opened, given his lack of game time under David Moyes, and while progress has been reported to be slow, things will have to speed up in the closing stages of the window.
With around two weeks left in the transfer window, negotiations will have to accelerate to get this one over the line. Delays had been caused by West Ham’s injury issues, but the potential return of Jarrod Bowen should ease concerns enough to let Benrahma leave.
After what the winger did in the 1-0 defeat to Bristol City in the FA Cup which saw him given a straight red card, the Hammers should be throwing him out of the door.

Interest from Wolves and Brentford remains, with Fulham having been linked earlier in the window, but if any of the three Premier League clubs make a move for him, they will now have to contend with a three-game suspension as a result of his petulance.
In other West Ham news, one player may have already played his final game for the club.
