West Ham United, Liverpool and Arsenal send scouts to track £26m Brazilian star

West Ham, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Fulham all sent scouts to watch Fluminese midfielder Andre in the Copa Libertadores final at the Maracana, according to Vamo Fluminese.

The Fluminese-focused news outlet shared on 7 November that all five Premier League clubs had watched the Brazilian make history with his club and turn in a strong midfield performance.

This news comes following claims that Liverpool, West Ham and Fulham had made proposals thought to be valued at £26million in the summer, but their offers were turned down.

Facing stiff competition

With the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and high-flying Tottenham joining the Hammers in their pursuit of Andre, the chances of convincing him to move to East London have become just that little bit slimmer.

Liverpool’s interest is long-standing, as evidenced by their summer bid, while Arsenal and Tottenham appear to be new arrivals to the party, and the Brazilian’s performance in the Copa Libertadores final will have done nothing to put them off of a potential move.

Andre is a combative midfielder, evidenced by the ten yellow cards he has picked up in just 24 league games so far this season, and would add a bit of bite and physicality to whichever side’s midfield he joins, providing a solid base for the attackers to flourish.

Pairing him with Edson Alvarez in midfield would create a formidable block for any opponents at the London Stadium, and would give a platform for the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen to strut their stuff going forward.
