West Ham United-linked Trevoh Chalobah weighing up offers, Bayern Munich ‘leading the charge’

West Ham-linked Trevoh Chalobah is set to weigh up his offers due to a lack of a future at Chelsea, according to TEAMtalk.

The publication reported on its website on Friday (20 October) that German side Bayern Munich are, however, leading the race for his signature.

TEAMtalk added that West Ham’s Premier League rivals Tottenham are also showing an interest in the 24-year-old defender.

“Trevoh Chalobah is expected to weigh up offers within the Premier League before deciding on the prospect of leaving English football, with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham both on his trail but German giants Bayern leading the charge, TEAMtalk understands.

“Sources have told TEAMtalk that there is no vision for him within Mauricio Pochettino’s project and in line with that Chalobah will seek a new opportunity that gives him good chances of regular top-level football.”

New defender incoming?

West Ham had plenty of money to spend in the summer transfer window after selling club captain Declan Rice to Arsenal.

And manager David Moyes and the powers that be at the London Stadium certainly spent it wisely, with all areas strengthened.

James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez have replaced Rice in midfield, with the versatile Mohammed Kudus bolstering the attack.

Greek international Konstantinos Mavropanos meanwhile has been brought in to help the Hammers stay competitive at the back.

But he could be joined by another new central defender in the form of Chalobah, who has yet to play for the Blues this season due to a thigh injury.

His chances under Mauricio Pochettino have obviously been hampered by that issue, but even when fit it seems that the player might be well down the pecking order.

That isn’t exactly a criticism of the centre-back, however, given the huge squad that the manager has available to him in West London.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are in the hunt to sign one Bundesliga ace, with £35million needed to seal the transfer.
