West Ham United-linked Ronnie Edwards ‘certain’ to be sold by Peterborough United in January, only £4.5m-plus bid needed
West Ham-linked Ronnie Edwards is “certain” to be sold by Peterborough United in January, according to The Sun.
The newspaper reported on its website on Thursday (21 December) that the Hammers had two bids of around £4million rejected in the summer.
The Sun added that the League One club, who are second in the table, are expecting a fee of at least £4.5million for the defender.

Bright future
West Ham should definitely be keeping tabs on the Peterborough youngster, with the centre-back already well on his way to a very bright future.
The England Under-21 international already boasts a phenomenal 112 appearances for the League One outfit, having also appeared twice for Barnet.

Unsurprisingly, however, the Hammers are not the only club interested in his services, with The Sun adding that Swansea City failed with four attempts to sign the player.
Moreover, West Ham’s Premier League rivals Everton are watching Edwards closely, with one club in Germany and one in Belgium also interested.
The London Stadium outfit did bolster their central defensive options in the summer with the signature of Konstantinos Mavropanos, but the former Arsenal man has perhaps underwhelmed in claret and blue thus far.
Furthermore, the future of fellow centre-back Nayef Aguerd seemingly remains uncertain, meaning manager David Moyes could be forced into taking major action in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Hammers boss has had plenty of success in terms of transfers in recent times, and this could prove to be another success story should the youngster make the switch to East London.
In other West Ham news, a striker that the Hammers want to sign has been exiled by his current club.
