West Ham United-linked Matias Soule makes transfer choice as new bid now launched
West Ham United target Matias Soule has made a decision regarding his future after Roma launched a bid for the attacking midfielder, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reported on Thursday (printed edition, July 18, page 13) that despite the Hammers’ interest, Soule is likely to choose the Serie A giants.
The offer is already on the table and stands at £21million, including bonuses, and Roma already have an agreement with the Argentine, Gazzetta said.
The 21-year-old, who is currently at Juventus, impressed on a loan spell at Frosinone last season and is not short of suitors this summer.
It’d be a shame if West Ham missed out on Matias Soule
West Ham have had their eyes on Soule for a while, but it looks like Roma might snatch him up. The Argentine forward, who shone during his loan spell at Frosinone, is set to leave Juventus this summer with the Old Lady having a £21million offer on the table from Roma, including bonuses [Roma Press, July 18).
It’s tough to compete when a big Serie A club is involved, especially since Soule seems more interested in staying in Italy.
Soule is just 21, but he’s already made quite a name for himself. His creativity, talent, and knack for scoring goals have drawn comparisons to Lionel Messi, and that’s no small praise.
Former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri previously lauded his versatility and potential, and it’s clear why clubs are lining up for his signature.
The Hammers have made some strong signings under Julen Lopetegui, but missing out on Soule would be a real blow. He’s the kind of player who can light up the Premier League and become a fan favourite with his exciting playing style.

If West Ham want to keep up their momentum and add a game-changer to their squad, they need to pull out all the stops to bring Soule to East London. Letting him slip to Roma would be a huge missed opportunity for the Hammers.
