West Ham United learn Tammy Abraham price tag as Tottenham transfer update emerges

Roma have placed a £28million price tag on Tammy Abraham amid interest from West Ham United, according to The Boot Room.

The online source reported [13 June] that Aston Villa and Newcastle United have joined the Hammers in a race for the 27-year-old, feeling that £28m represents “excellent” value this summer.

It is understood that Tottenham are now tempted to rival the Premier League trio after learning the price tag hovering over the Serie A striker’s head [La Gazzetta Dello Sport].

West Ham United to rival Tottenham for Tammy Abraham transfer

The London Stadium is set for a summer of change, with Julen Lopetegui needing to adapt the squad to his style following David Moyes’ exit.

Although the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus are all capable of playing through the middle, Michail Antonio is the only real striker option at the Spaniard’s disposal currently.

Danny Ings has been a disappointment since arriving from Villa in January 2023, scoring just four goals in 52 appearances, though Antonio’s injury history leaves Lopetegui with no option but to dive into the summer transfer market.

While Abraham has missed the majority of the 2023/24 campaign, the former Chelsea man has experienced a decent time in Italy and deserves plaudits for his goalscoring record.

He has also proven himself in the Premier League during his time at Stamford Bridge, which could see him fit seamlessly into the Irons’ squad ahead of next season.

Abraham notched 30 goals in 79 appearances for Chelsea between 2019 and 2021 before leaving to find more game time, with his club attempting to sign multiple high-profile strikers.

He certainly has the ability to come back to the Premier League and thrive. Lopetegui could hand him that chance, especially with the Hammers needing a new face to lead the line next season.

In other West Ham news, a £33.7m update has emerged as the Hammers have made contact to sign the best dribbler in a top five European league this summer.
